Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) is conducting the Computer-Based Test Stage-1 (CBT-1) for Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) under CEN 01/2025. The exam started on 13 February 2026 and continues on 16, 17 & 18 February 2026 in multiple shifts. Eligibility Criteria (as on 01 July 2025):
- Age Limit: 18–30 years (Relaxation: OBC 3 yrs, SC/ST 5 yrs, PwBD/Ex-Servicemen as per rules)
- Educational Qualification:
- Matriculation (10th) + ITI certificate in relevant trades (Fitter, Electrician, Instrument Mechanic, Mechanic Diesel, etc. from NCVT/SCVT)
- OR 10th + Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Automobile Engineering (or combinations)
- Medical Standards: A-1 category (strict vision & physical fitness required for loco pilot role)
Application Fee:
- General/OBC/EWS: ₹500 (₹400 refunded after appearing in CBT-1)
- SC/ST/PwBD/Female/Ex-Servicemen: ₹250 (fully refunded after appearing)

Selection Process (Multi-Stage):
- CBT-1 (Screening Test – 75 questions, 60 minutes; Subjects: Maths, Mental Ability, General Science, General Awareness & Current Affairs)
- CBT-2 (Main Exam – Part A & Part B)
- Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) (for qualifying candidates)
- Document Verification + Medical Examination
How to Download Admit Card (Step-by-Step):
- Visit your regional RRB website (e.g., https://www.rrbcdg.gov.in/ for Chandigarh or check indianrailways.gov.in → Recruitment → RRB links)
- Go to CEN 01/2025 (ALP) section
- Click on “Download Admit Card” or “E-Call Letter”
- Enter Registration Number / Enrollment ID + Date of Birth / Password
- Download & print the admit card (carry it with photo ID like Aadhaar/Voter ID)
- Also check exam city/date via city intimation link if needed
Exam Day Tips & Guidelines:
- Report 1–1.5 hours early
- Carry admit card + original photo ID (no photocopies)
- Prohibited: Mobile, watch, calculator, any electronic gadgets
- Dress code: Simple attire (avoid metal buttons, heavy clothing)
- Follow biometric/Aadhaar verification
- Negative marking: 1/3 mark deducted for wrong answers in CBT

- Difficulty: Easy to Moderate (varies by shift)
- Good Attempts: 55–65+ (focus on accuracy!)
- Topics: Maths & Reasoning were calculative; Science & GK had current affairs twist
