UPTET 2026 – Overview Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET 2026) is conducted by Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC / UPBEB) to determine eligibility for Primary (Class 1–5) and Upper Primary (Class 6–8) teacher posts in government and aided schools in Uttar Pradesh.
This is a qualifying exam (not recruitment) – passing UPTET is mandatory for UP Super TET / teacher jobs. Eligibility Criteria (Simple Explanation)
- Age Limit: 18 to 38 years (as on 1 July 2026). Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwD as per rules.
- Educational Qualification:
- Paper 1: 12th pass + 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed / BTC) OR B.El.Ed / B.Ed with 50% marks (45% for reserved).
- Paper 2: Graduation + 2-year D.El.Ed OR B.Ed with 50% marks (45% for reserved).
- Candidates in final year of qualifying exam can also apply.
Application Fee (Expected – Based on Previous)
- General / OBC: ₹600 (both papers) / ₹400 (one paper)
- SC / ST: ₹400 (both) / ₹200 (one)
- Payment: Online only.

- General: 60% (90/150)
- OBC: 55% (82.5/150)
- SC/ST: 50% (75/150)
- No interview – just qualifying certificate valid for lifetime (as per NCTE rules).
